Visionary initiative of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq empowers healthcare professionals with modern research methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) successfully organized the Bosch Initiative for Research Diversity (BIRD) Workshop on November 21–22, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening research capacity and fostering innovation in health sciences. The workshop was a visionary initiative of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq, aimed at promoting high-quality, interdisciplinary research and enhancing the research capabilities of healthcare professionals.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Syeda Kiran Riaz, whose efforts facilitated the successful execution of this important academic initiative. Approved and fully supported by the university administration, the program brought together faculty members, researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals for an intensive training experience focused on contemporary research methodologies and collaborative scientific practices. Clinicians who attended the workshop were awarded 10 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours in recognition of their active participation and commitment to continuing professional development.

Participants received comprehensive training on modern research tools, innovative study designs, and interdisciplinary approaches to scientific investigation. The workshop emphasized the importance of collaborative research in addressing complex healthcare challenges and encouraged participants to develop impactful, evidence-based solutions that can improve patient care and public health outcomes.
