Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
All Pakistani citizens (including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan) are eligible to compete for Open Merit Seats. Additionally, they will be considered under their respective domicile quotas, making them eligible for both open merit and domicile-based reserved seats.
Applicants desirous for admission against quota needs to submit a document issued by concerned authority certifying that applicant is eligible against the quota i.e. Domicile Certificate, Federal Government Employees Certificate, Disability Certificate as applicable.
The applicants applying on the basis of domiciles will have to provide, in addition to domicile certificate, proof of residence/property/education or any tangible evidence of stay in region of domicile.
Applicants applying on disabled quota seats must furnish disability certificate issued by Federal/Provincial Government Disability Board describing the nature of disability and other relevant documents before Medical Examination Board of SZABMU. Certificate issued by public/private medical practitioner shall not be considered.
Ex-FATA applicants must submit domicile verification from the respective Deputy/Assistant Commissioner as per the specimen on the SZABMU admission website
Applicants applying on Federal Government Employment (FGE) quota seats must submit the FGE certificate from the respective Federal Government institution/department as per the specimen on the SZABMU admission website
Eligibility Criteria
In accordance with “PM&DC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2025 ”, the basic eligibility criteria for admissions are as follows
- The applicant has scored minimum Fifty Percent (50%) marks in the MDCAT 2026 examination conducted by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
- obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification ("HSSC") or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and having obtained a minimum of Sixty Percent (60%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Medical and Dental Council; and
- passed the mandatory subjects of biology and chemistry. The student may opt to qualify either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan
Merit Determination Criteria
- MDCAT of PM&DC = 50%
- F.Sc(Pre-Medical)/HSSC/Equivalent = 40%
- SSC/Matriculation/Equivalent = 10%
No candidate shall be considered eligible on merit if the candidate has not acquired a
1. Minimum 60% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve years of education, and
2. Minimum 50% marks in the MDCAT 2026 examination conducted by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
Mandatory Documents Required
For All- Recent Passport size color photograph of the applicant with blue background.
- Valid CNIC/NICOP/Passport of the applicant.
- Matriculation (SSC) Certificate or Transcript issued by concerned board/Equivalence Certificate of O-Level/10th grade issued by IBCC.
- HSSC (Pre-Medical) Certificate or Transcript issued by concerned board/Equivalence Certificate of A-Level/12th Grade issued by IBCC. The applicants having foreign qualification shall also upload their original results issued by concerned foreign University/High School/Board and showing his/her subjects.
- Domicile Certificate of the applicant.
- PM&DC MDCAT Result Certificate.
- Scanned copy of application processing paid fee challan (Separate for MBBS and BDS).
- A permanent foreign nationality or is an overseas Pakistani (being a Pakistani citizen permanently resident in a foreign country), Green Card Holder, Iqama Holder or Maple Card Holder and has studied and passed Intermediate/FSc/HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from within or outside Pakistan, accompanied by an equivalence certificate issued by IBCC
- Applicant must upload one of the following documents:
Valid Iqama or Permanent Resident Card or Green Card or Foreign Passport
- Disability Certificate issued by Federal/Provincial Government Disability Board describing the nature of disability (For seats of disabled quota only).
- Parent Employment certificate issued by relevant Federal Government Institution as per the specimen on the SZABMU admission website (For seats of Federal Govt. Employees only).
- Ex-FATA applicants must submit domicile verification from the respective Deputy/Assistant Commissioner as per the specimen on the SZABMU admission website.
Documents to Be Scanned and Uploaded
Original scan documents to be uploaded in JPEG or JPG format only and file size should not exceed 512KB per document

- Foreign applicant shall upload their original results issued by concerned foreign University/High School/Board and showing his/her subjects.
- Foreign applicant shall upload proof of residence and proof of study from the last attended institution i.e. School leaving certificate.
- Foreign applicant must upload one of the following document:
valid Iqama / Residence Permit / Green Card / Foreign Passport - The applicant is solely responsible for uploading the correct documents in the appropriate manner. Failure to upload the correct documents will lead to the rejection of the applicant application without any notice for which the university shall not be responsible.
