SHAHEED ZULFIQAR ALI BHUTTO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (SZABMU) SECURES TOP POSITION IN THE IMPACT RANKINGS 2026
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings for 2026, securing its position among the top five public sector medical universities in Pakistan. The university showed substantial improvement, moving from the 1001-1500th global bracket in 2025 to the 801-1000th bracket in 2026, reflecting its deepening commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and its overarching mission of academic excellence and social responsibility.
Nationally, SZABMU ranks fourth overall among public sector medical universities, sharing this distinguished spot with Quaid-i-Azam University, Fatima Jinnah Medical University, and Sukkur IBA University, while also holding the unique distinction of being the only medical university in the Federal Capital Territory dedicated to clinical and health sciences.
The university’s performance and Excellence Across Key SDGs has been particularly noteworthy:
