International Nursing Day Bridges Health Sector Gaps
An informative and interactive event was organized in auditorium of the College of Medical Technology on 12th May 2026 on the International Nursing Day with the topic “Bridging the Gap among professionals in the Health Sector” under the leadership of Dr. Ayesha Isani Majeed, Dean Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, SZABMU / Principal, CMT .
The event was attended by the Principal School of Nursing, along with Faculty members, and students of School of Nursing, Faculty Members of College of Medical Technology and students of Allied Health Professionals. The purpose of the program was to highlight the importance of collaboration, communication, and teamwork among healthcare professionals for the betterment of patient care and safety.
The program formally commenced with the opening speech by Dr. Saima Ehsan, Registrar CMT, who welcomed the guests and audience and emphasized the significance of professional harmony in the healthcare sector.
This was followed by speech of by Dr. Maria Tahir on the importance of clinical leadership coordinating and unifying the team of Health Care Providers.
The guest speaker, Madam Khair-Un-Nisa, Principal, School of Nursing delivered an informative presentation with reference of International Nursing Day on Patient Safety, highlighting the collective responsibility of all healthcare professionals in ensuring quality patient care.
Afterwards, Dr. Pairzo Achakzai, Vice Principal gave her presentation, addressing the role and communication in strengthening the healthcare system.
In the concluding session, Dr. Ayesha Isani Majeed, Dean Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, SZABMU / Principal, CMT interacted with the audience and delivered the closing remarks. She appreciated the efforts of the organizers, faculty, and students, and encouraged continued collaboration among all healthcare disciplines to improve patient outcomes and professional relationships. She emphasized on the importance of triage of Doctor, Nurses and Technician working in harmony for patient centered care. She spoke on shortage of Nurses in Pakistan and emphasized to add six months language Diploma course, which can be helpful for the Technicians / Nurses in abroad. These courses can be French, German, Italian, and Arabic Language etc.
At the end of the program, short videos highlighting the dedication of nursing professionals and the vital role of Health Care Workers in patient care and safety were played. The event concluded with a group photographic session with the Dean Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, SZABMU/ Principal CMT, Principal School of Nursing, faculty members, and students, making the success of the program and creating memories.
