The Office of Institutional Quality Assessment and Effectiveness (IQAE) at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) successfully organized training workshops on the Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) and Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) on 18th February 2026.

The sessions were led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq, who emphasized the role of internal quality assurance (IQA) in improving academic standards and institutional effectiveness. Dr. Syeda Kiran Riaz, Director IQAE, delivered an in-depth briefing on the quality enhancement framework aligned with PSG-2023, and provided practical guidance on the preparation and submission of RIPE and PREE reports.

Conducted in two sessions, the workshops enabled participation from affiliated colleges, constituent programs, and administrative departments. Attendees included representatives from affiliated institutions, Heads of Departments, programme coordinators, faculty members, and student representatives. Participants received hands-on guidance on reporting procedures, assigned targets, and the evaluation process from Dr. Syeda Kiran Riaz and IQAE team. Targets for benchmarking the quality parameters were also assigned to the Affiliated colleges for submission of RIPE related evidences and documents.

These workshops formally launched the RIPE and PREE cycle for the 2025–2026 academic year, reinforcing SZABMU’s commitment to continuous quality improvement (CQI), institutional performance evaluation, and sustained quality assurance across its academic and healthcare network.
