Pro Vice Chancellor’s Message
It gives me immense pleasure to write this message for Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), the first Federal Public Sector, Medical University in Pakistan, established in 2013. The changing face of medical profession with global education advancement has made teaching and learning more relevant to societal needs and SZABMU has the mandate to deliver medical education at par with International Standards. Since its inception, SZABMU is providing world class education in Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing, Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences in addition to quality health care. This focus on health care as well as medical education and research assists in attaining highest levels of professional excellence in Medical Sciences.
Being associated with the University since its commissioning and working initially as Dean Nursing and allied and later as Dean Surgical and Allied and now as the Pro Vice Chancellor, I have seen with tremendous pride, its progress in developing the programs and curricula which are second to none in the world. To ensure an effective healthcare delivery system, this University along with largest public teaching hospital in Federal Capital and its affiliated Medical & Dental, Nursing and Allied colleges provide the residents of Islamabad with state of the art diagnostic facilities as well as preventive and curative facilities in varied medical & surgical fields. Based on global advancement in research and development, doctors, nurses, paramedics and health managers are educated with modern and futuristic comprehensive knowledge. The highly qualified faculty of eminent scholars, distinguished professors and specialists is dedicated in their pursuit of excellence in teaching, training, research thereby imparting quality education in addition to service delivery.
Quality healthcare services and dynamic faculty promoting clinical excellence and research are the most significant elements of this Medical University spearheading the progress of health care in Pakistan. I look forward to the SZABMU continuing its journey par excellence.
