Successful MDCAT-24: Over 21,800 Appear in MDCAT Conducted by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad, Sept 23: The Federal public sector medical institution - Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), successfully hold MDCAT-24 of where 21,800 students appeared in various centers across Pakistan, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
A university spokesperson said, on Monday: "The exams of this year's MDCAT for potential Medical and Dental students were held in Islamabad, Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan."
The official said that a total number of 22,557 students applied for appearing in the MDCAT exams 2024, and 21,858 students were present for the country's top medical entry test exam.
He said 699 students were absent on the day of exams held on Sunday, Sept, 22.
The official noted that all applicants underwent thorough screening, and verification prior to the exams to ensure transparency of the MDCAT.
The MDCAT started and finished on time at all centers, demonstrating the university's commitment to professionalism and good governance, informed the spokesperson.
The spokesperson said 15 candidates (11 males and 4 females) were caught with evidence of misconduct, and using unfair means. As per laid down protocol the spokesperson said that "a formal application has been submitted against them, and all evidences, including confiscated prohibited materials and their CNICs, has been provided to the Islamabad Police."
The official said that diligent oversight had ensured the smooth conduct of the examination. In relation to the question paper he said: "The exam papers were meticulously prepared to cover the entire syllabus comprehensively, ensuring a fair assessment of all candidates' knowledge and skills."
The official said that on the instructions of the Vice Chancellor Prof.Tariq Iqbal University has also established a dedicated Complaint Portal for candidates to report any complaints related to the MDCAT."
He said that "Vice Chancellors has strictly advised that all complaints shall be reviewed on priority basis to address concerns promptly of students and the parents.
He said that a rigorous process was followed to ensure successful holding of the examination environment.
The official also acknowledged the security support extended by the local district administration and Islamabad Police for safe and secure exams held within ICT, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
